6.3 P HASE 0 Phase 0 follows a defined stage-gate review and approval process, typically devoting more time to solution assessments and preliminary planning activities to facilitate development of accurate (+/- 10%) estimates for larger projects. 6.4 RAPID RAPID/Sprint Planning is a time-boxed set of activities that help key stakeholders with planning, scoping, and estimating new projects in an efficient manner. 6.5 C OMPARISON OF FEP AND P HASE 0 FEP and Phase 0 processes are very similar – both follow stage-gate processes to ensure project management best practices are followed during planning to help projects be more successful. Both processes align with the financial planning cycle. Each has a decision tree that points to the other process (if needed) to ensure applicable templates are used, and many deliverables are similar. There is no need to do both for a project.
