6.6 F RONT E ND P LANNING E LEMENTS / P ROCESS /D ETAILS : Typical activities include, but are not limited to site Investigation, environmental analysis, life-cycle analysis, process design and related cost and schedule estimates, initial equipment design and space planning. FEP is exclusively a planning and/or engineering activity and does not include the purchase of capital equipment or assets. FEP starts during the Feasibility phase, after the project has been initiated, and concludes at RCE Gate 3, prior to RCE authorization/approval.
